Online SHEA Core Course

Costs shown on the website include the EUSR registration and virtual card(s).  From April 1st 2024, the cost of EUSR registration fees and cards will be increasing (this will be reflected in our costs of courses/EUSR cards).

Virtual cards are accessible on mobile phone instead of physical plastic cards.  If plastic cards are still required as an addition, these can be added to your order at checkout. Please note, a plastic card cannot be ordered in replacement of a virtual card.

*** Before booking please ensure that the candidate has access to a laptop or tablet/iPad. We do not allow access to online courses using a mobile phone. Candidates must be sat within a safe and quiet environment, ie a quiet office or room alone with no background noise / distractions ***

This course requires a minimum of two candidates to run so if numbers are low the course may be cancelled - if this was to happen any candidates booked on would be informed with at least 7 days notice and offered the choice of either a different course date or full refund.

 

Course Overview: The Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Core training allows access for all individuals entering both permanent and temporary utilities operational sites, including all levels of operatives, supervisors, and management. The scheme is designed to provide a uniform approach to health, safety, and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector. 

Duration: 1 day

Registration: Certification is valid for 3 years and registration is renewed on completion of this course.

 

Safety Health and Environmental Awareness

The scheme comprises of several modules. The six core modules are relevant for all utility industries and form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and practises. It is designed to provide evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness. 

The scheme is affiliated with CSCS, allowing holders access to construction sites for utility work purposes without a separate CSCS card.

Individuals must successfully complete training and assessment for all six modules. This Scheme does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.

 

Course Duration and Registration

The course duration is normally a full day (approx. 6 hours). The course is an interactive trainer-led delivery and candidates are invited to share and discuss experiences with the group.

EUSR registration for SHEA Core is for three years from the date of assessment.

This scheme is partnered with CSCS to allow power and electricity industry workers access to construction sites for purposes of utilities work without the need for a separate CSCS card.
